Sayano-Shushenskaya is a hydroelectric power station on the Yenisey River, located near the village of Cheryomushki in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. It is the largest power station in Russia and the sixth largest in the world. The construction of the dam began in 1963 and the first power unit was launched in 1978. The power station was fully commissioned in 2000.
