Sankardevs
Sankardev, also known as Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev, was a prominent Assamese saint, scholar, poet, playwright, and social-religious reformer. He lived from 1449 to 1568, during the medieval period in Assam, India. Sankardev is considered the most important figure in the cultural and religious history of Assam and is credited with ushering in a new era of Vaishnavism in the region.
