Sallime

Sallime is a fictional town and port in the coastal region of Eldoria, created for illustrative purposes. It sits on the northern shore of Sallime Bay, about 75 kilometers east of the regional capital of Valmere. The surrounding landscape combines low hills with a sheltered harbor and a waterfront promenade. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters, cool summers, and regular rainfall.

Founded in the 11th century by fishing families, Sallime grew as a regional trading hub, developing a sheltered harbor and shipyards. It remained a provincial town through the medieval era and expanded its administrative role after the formation of Eldoria's modern republic in the 19th century.

The local economy centers on fishing and seafood processing, complemented by small-scale tourism and light manufacturing. The harbor supports commercial fishing fleets and a weekly fish market that draws visitors from nearby towns. In recent decades, diversification includes services, logistics, and craft industries.

Demographically, Sallime is home to about 12,000 residents. The population is predominantly Eldorian-speaking with a minority of speakers of the regional dialect. The town is governed by a mayor and a nine-member municipal council elected to four-year terms.

Cultural life centers on the annual Fishermen's Day festival, coastal cuisine, and the historic lighthouse that guides ships into the harbor. Notable landmarks include the old market square, the lighthouse, and a 14th-century chapel preserved as a cultural site.
