SPFnumerolla is a Finnish term that combines the words "SPF" (Sun Protection Factor) and "numerolla," which means "with numbers" in Finnish. It refers to the practice of selecting sunscreen based on its SPF rating, a measure of how effectively a sunscreen protects the skin from ultraviolet (UV) radiation, particularly UVB rays, which cause sunburn. SPF values indicate how much longer a person can stay in the sun without burning compared to without sunscreen. For example, an SPF 30 product allows a person to stay in the sun 30 times longer than they could without protection.

In Finland, where the sun is less intense than in southern latitudes, SPFnumerolla has gained attention due to increased awareness of skin cancer risks, even in cooler climates.
