SNRarvon

SNRarvon is a fictional Galactic supernova remnant used in astronomy education and in science fiction settings. It is placed in the outer Milky Way at an approximate distance of 4,800 light-years from the Sun. The name honors a fictional astronomer Arvon, who is credited with outlining its remnant dynamics in teaching materials.

Observationally, SNRarvon is described as a shell-type remnant with a bright northeastern rim. In the educational model, multiwavelength data show non-thermal radio and X-ray emission from shock-accelerated electrons, with infrared emission from dust heated in the shell. The remnant’s diameter is about 40 light-years, and its age is around 2,000 to 3,000 years.

In the descriptive scenario, the remnant interacts with a nearby molecular cloud, producing gamma-ray emission via hadronic and leptonic processes. The explosion energy is near 1e51 erg, and the ambient density around 0.3 cm^-3. A central compact object is not present in the modeled remnant.

In educational contexts, SNRarvon serves as a canonical example of how researchers interpret multiwavelength observations to study remnant evolution and cosmic-ray acceleration. It is commonly cited in course materials and, in some fiction, as part of a broader astrophysical setting.
