SMAbased is a term used to describe a therapeutic approach that utilizes monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) as the primary component of a treatment. Monoclonal antibodies are proteins produced in a laboratory that are designed to target specific molecules, such as proteins on the surface of cancer cells or those involved in inflammatory processes. This specificity allows for a more targeted treatment, potentially reducing side effects compared to conventional therapies like chemotherapy.
