The S11parameter quantifies how much of the signal incident on port 1 is reflected back to port 1. A lower S11parameter value indicates a better match between the port and the connected circuitry, meaning less signal is lost due to reflection.

This parameter is typically expressed in decibels (dB) or as a dimensionless complex number. In dB, a value of -10 dB signifies that 10% of the incident power is reflected, while -20 dB means 1% is reflected.
