Südameveresoonkondade, also known as the cardiovascular system or circulatory system, refers to the network of organs and vessels that transport blood throughout the body. This vital system is comprised of the heart, blood vessels, and blood. The primary function of the cardiovascular system is to deliver oxygen and nutrients to all cells and tissues, while simultaneously removing waste products such as carbon dioxide.

The heart is a muscular organ that acts as a pump, propelling blood through the circulatory system. It consists of four chambers: two atria and two ventricles. The atria receive blood returning to the heart, while the ventricles pump blood out to the lungs and the rest of the body.

Blood vessels are a series of tubes that carry blood. Arteries carry oxygenated blood away from the heart, branching into smaller arterioles and eventually capillaries. Capillaries are tiny vessels where the exchange of oxygen, nutrients, and waste products occurs between the blood and the body's tissues. Deoxygenated blood then returns to the heart through venules, which merge into larger veins.

Blood itself is a fluid connective tissue containing red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Red blood cells are responsible for oxygen transport, white blood cells are part of the immune system, platelets aid in blood clotting, and plasma carries nutrients, hormones, and waste products. The continuous circulation of blood ensures that all parts of the body receive the necessary resources for survival and function. Dysfunctions within the cardiovascular system can lead to various diseases, often referred to as cardiovascular diseases.
