Säätökäyrälle

Säätökäyrälle refers to a control curve or setpoint curve used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, particularly in buildings. It is a graphical representation that defines the desired temperature or other operational parameters of the system based on one or more input variables. Commonly, a säätökäyrälle plots the target supply air temperature or room temperature against the outdoor air temperature.

The purpose of a säätökäyrälle is to automate and optimize the building's climate control. As the outdoor temperature changes, the control curve dictates how the HVAC system should adjust its output to maintain a comfortable indoor environment while minimizing energy consumption. For example, a heating curve might specify a lower supply air temperature when the outdoor temperature is mild and a higher temperature when it is very cold.

These curves are typically determined based on factors such as building insulation, desired indoor temperature setpoints, and energy efficiency goals. Building management systems use the real-time outdoor temperature (and sometimes other inputs like solar radiation or occupancy) to look up the corresponding setpoint on the säätökäyrälle and then adjust the HVAC equipment accordingly. Fine-tuning these curves is crucial for achieving both occupant comfort and operational efficiency.
