Rõhuregulaatori

A rõhuregulaator, or pressure regulator in English, is a mechanical device that controls and maintains a constant downstream pressure from a variable upstream pressure. This is achieved by sensing the output pressure and adjusting a valve or orifice to restrict the flow of fluid or gas. When the downstream pressure drops below the set point, the regulator opens to allow more fluid or gas to pass through. Conversely, if the downstream pressure rises above the set point, the regulator closes, reducing the flow.

Pressure regulators are essential components in a wide range of applications, including industrial processes, domestic water systems, medical equipment, and automotive fuel systems. They are crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of these systems by preventing over-pressurization, maintaining consistent flow rates, and protecting sensitive equipment from damage. The design and type of pressure regulator vary depending on the specific application, the type of fluid or gas being regulated, and the required pressure range.

Common types include direct-acting regulators, pilot-operated regulators, and back-pressure regulators. Direct-acting regulators are simpler and use a spring to counteract the force of the downstream pressure. Pilot-operated regulators use a smaller, simpler regulator to control the main valve, offering greater accuracy and capacity. Back-pressure regulators, on the other hand, control the upstream pressure by opening when a certain back pressure is reached. The selection of the correct pressure regulator is critical for optimal performance and safety.
