Rómarsamþykktin

Rómarsamþykktin, also known as the Rome Convention, was signed in Rome, Italy, on June 7, 1990. It is an international treaty that aims to protect the rights of performers and producers of phonograms. The convention was established under the auspices of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The primary objective of Rómarsamþykktin is to ensure that performers and producers of sound recordings have control over how their performances and recordings are used.
