Réflétant

Réflétant is the present participle form of the French verb réféléter, meaning “reflecting.” In French grammar, réflétant functions as a participial adjective and can describe something that reflects, such as a surface or image, or appear in descriptive phrases in literary or technical writing. It is distinct from the present participle réfléchissant, which comes from the verb réfléchir (to think) and carries a different sense.

Because réfléter and réfléchir cover different senses—physical reflection versus cognitive reflection—their participles differ and are used

As a result, réflétant is primarily encountered as a grammatical form rather than as a standalone name

Related terms include réfléchir (to think) and réfléter (to reflect).
