Ruumiheli is a Finnish term that translates to "room sound" or "space sound" and refers to the sonic characteristics of an enclosed space. It encompasses the way sound waves behave within a particular room, influenced by its size, shape, and the materials of its surfaces. Factors contributing to ruumiheli include reverberation, echo, and the presence of standing waves. Reverberation is the persistence of sound after the original sound source has stopped, caused by multiple reflections. Echo occurs when a reflection is distinct enough to be heard as a separate sound.
