Rushcutters

Rushcutters is a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is located in the Eastern Suburbs, 3 kilometres east of the Sydney central business district. Rushcutters Bay is a harbour inlet and parkland area within the suburb, which gives the suburb its name.

The area was originally part of the lands of the Gadigal people. Following European settlement, the area was granted to early colonists. By the late 19th century, the area was developing as a residential district, with a mix of housing and some industrial activity associated with the harbour. Rushcutters Bay Park was established in the early 20th century, becoming a popular recreational space.

Rushcutters Bay is known for its picturesque foreshore, popular with walkers, joggers, and families. The bay itself is a hub for sailing and other water sports, with a marina and yacht club. The suburb is also home to a number of residential apartment buildings, as well as some cafes and restaurants. Its proximity to the city and its desirable harbour-side location make it a sought-after residential area. Transport links connect Rushcutters Bay to the wider Sydney metropolitan area.
