Rumsinlopp
Rumsinlopp is a Swedish term used in building services engineering to describe the opening through which conditioned air enters a room from a central ventilation or air-conditioning system. It represents the room-side interface of the supply air path and is typically realized as a grille, diffuser, or register connected to a supply duct or plenum. In many installations the rumsinlopp includes a damper to regulate airflow and, in some cases, a control device to influence temperature or comfort.
The rumsinlopp is designed to distribute air into the room while balancing comfort, acoustics, and energy use.
Placement and performance considerations are important for avoiding drafts, ensuring uniform temperature, and meeting indoor air
Etymology: the term combines rum (room) and inlopp (inlet) and is used to denote the room-side intake
