Rubidgea
Rubidgea is an extinct genus of therapsid known from fossil remains found in the Karoo Basin of South Africa. Therapsids are a diverse group of mammal-like reptiles that includes the ancestors of mammals, and Rubidgea has typically been associated with the therocephalian lineages by researchers studying Permian fauna. The genus dates to the Permian period, a time before the rise of dinosaurs when many early land vertebrates diversified in southern Africa.
