Roottorivaihe

Roottorivaihe is a term used in electrical engineering, specifically in the context of AC induction motors. It refers to the rotor winding of such a motor. In a standard squirrel cage induction motor, the rotor consists of conductive bars short-circuited at the ends by rings, resembling a cage. In contrast, a wound rotor induction motor has a rotor winding made of coils, typically connected to slip rings.

The primary function of the rotor is to interact with the rotating magnetic field produced by the stator. This interaction induces currents in the rotor conductors, which in turn create their own magnetic field. The interaction between the stator and rotor magnetic fields generates the torque that drives the motor.
