Rohwasser

Rohwasser is a German term meaning raw water, referring to water drawn from natural sources such as rivers, lakes, or groundwater before any treatment. In hydrology, water supply, and environmental engineering, Rohwasser describes the starting material for purification and industrial use, and is distinct from Trinkwasser (drinking water) and Abwasser (wastewater). The composition of Rohwasser varies by source and environment and can include suspended solids, microorganisms, minerals, organic matter, and trace contaminants.

Before Rohwasser can be used as potable water, it typically undergoes treatment such as coagulation and flocculation,

Health authorities generally advise against drinking raw water directly due to the risk of waterborne diseases
