Roedeliuss

Roedeliuss is the pseudonym of German electronic musician Dieter Moebius, born November 2, 1944. He is best known as one half of the pioneering krautrock duo Cluster, alongside Hans-Joachim Roedelius, and as a member of Harmonia, with Roedelius and Michael Rother. Moebius's work is characterized by its experimental approach to electronic soundscapes, often featuring repetitive sequences, ambient textures, and unconventional sonic arrangements.

Born in Gera, Germany, Moebius moved to Berlin after the Second World War. He met Hans-Joachim Roedelius in the late 1960s, and together they formed Cluster in 1969. Cluster became influential in the development of electronic music, releasing a series of groundbreaking albums that explored minimalist and avant-garde territories. Their collaborations with Brian Eno in the mid-1970s, particularly the albums "Cluster & Eno" and "After the Heat," further cemented their reputation.

Beyond Cluster, Moebius collaborated with various artists, including Conny Plank and Mani Neumeier. He also pursued a solo career, releasing albums that continued to push the boundaries of electronic music. His distinctive sound, often described as "cosmic," "abstract," or "hypnotic," has influenced generations of musicians across electronic, ambient, and experimental genres. Moebius passed away on July 20, 2015.
