Rockot
Rokot is a Russian orbital launch vehicle designed to deliver small payloads into orbit. The rocket is based on a modified first stage derived from a Soviet-era ICBM (UR-100NUTTH) and uses a Briz-KM upper stage to achieve final orbital insertion. The Rokot family is operated commercially by Eurockot Launch Services, a joint venture between Khrunichev and the European Space Agency, with missions principally conducted from Russia's spaceports. It has been used to deploy a variety of satellites for European and Russian customers into low Earth orbit, including sun-synchronous trajectories. The design emphasizes cost efficiency for small payloads and demonstrates the reuse of mature ICBM-derived technologies in a space launch context.
