Robitaille is a surname of French origin, most commonly found in Canada, particularly Quebec, and in parts of France. The name is associated with several individuals in sports and public life. Luc Robitaille (born 1964) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. A left winger, he spent the bulk of his NHL career with the Los Angeles Kings and became the franchise’s all-time leading scorer. He was part of the Detroit Red Wings team that won the Stanley Cup in 2002. Robitaille was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009. After retiring as a player, he has worked in hockey administration and broadcasting and has remained involved in the sport.
