Rilian

Rilian is a character from C.S. Lewis's fantasy novel "The Silver Chair," the sixth book in the Chronicles of Narnia series. He is the son of King Caspian X and the heir to the Narnian throne. Rilian is a central figure in the story, though his true identity is initially concealed. He is known to his friends as the "Black Panther" and later as Prince Rilian.

In the narrative, Rilian has been missing for ten years, having disappeared under mysterious circumstances. His disappearance is tied to the machinations of the Lady of the Green Kirtle, a powerful and deceptive witch. The protagonists, Jill Pole, Eustace Scrubb, and Puddleglum the Marsh-wiggle, are tasked by Aslan to find Rilian and rescue him from the Underworld.

Rilian is portrayed as a brave and noble prince, but he is also under a powerful enchantment. This enchantment causes him to suffer from a condition that necessitates him being bound in chains during certain periods, during which he is unable to recognize his true identity or his rescuer. The Lady of the Green Kirtle uses this condition to control him and prevent him from reclaiming his throne. The breaking of this enchantment is a pivotal moment in the novel, leading to the defeat of the witch and the restoration of Rilian to his rightful place as prince and future king of Narnia.
