Riesenräder
Riesenräder, or Ferris wheels in German, are large vertical wheels with passenger cabins attached to the rim. As the wheel turns, riders experience a gentle ascent and descent and obtain panoramic views of the surrounding area. Typical wheels consist of a steel frame, a central axle, a circular rim with gondolas, and a supporting tower. The ride is powered by electric motors and is designed to rotate slowly to minimize motion.
