Ridh

Ridh is a town and municipality in the fictional country of Naru, located in the northern highlands. It lies along the Lora River and covers about 42 square kilometers. The surrounding landscape includes rolling farmland, mixed deciduous woodland, and gentle hills. The climate is temperate, with cold winters and warm summers.

Founded in the 12th century around a small monastery, Ridh grew as a market and trade stop on routes linking inland settlements to port towns. It attained municipal status in the 19th century and today functions as the administrative center of the Ridh district. The population is around 12,000, with a predominantly Narui-speaking community and smaller minority groups.

The local economy relies on agriculture—wheat, dairy, and fruit—as well as light manufacturing and services. A weekly market, a regional hospital, and several schools serve the town. Transportation includes a national highway and a regional rail line that terminates in the town center.

Culturally, Ridh hosts an annual harvest festival featuring crafts, music, and traditional foods. Landmarks include the 15th-century St. Agatha Church, the old windmill on the outer edge of town, and a small museum documenting regional history.

Notable people: Lina Mirth, 1920s–1980s writer and local advocate. Governance follows a mayor-council system; the mayor and six-member council are elected to moderate local services, planning, and development within Naru's regional framework.
