Rickon

Rickon Stark is a fictional character in George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series and in the HBO television adaptation Game of Thrones. He is a member of House Stark, the youngest child of Lord Eddard (Ned) Stark and Lady Catelyn Stark, and the younger brother of Robb, Sansa, Arya, and Bran. In both the books and the series, he is associated with Winterfell and the direwolf Shaggydog, the symbol of his house.

In the novels, Rickon is introduced as a small and impulsive child who spends much of his time at Winterfell under the guardianship of various Stark household members. He has only a limited role in the on-page narrative, and his fate remains unresolved in the published books, with fans awaiting future installments in the series.

In the television adaptation, Rickon is portrayed by Art Parkinson. His arc diverges from the books in several respects, but he remains the youngest Stark child. He experiences displacement during the turmoil in the North, a brief reunion with his brother Jon Snow, and ultimately dies during the Battle of the Bastards when Ramsay Bolton kills him with an arrow.

Rickon’s character serves to illustrate the vulnerability of the Stark family and the rapid erosion of their power in the North, as well as the broader themes of loss and the costs of war that permeate the series.
