Rhins
The Rhins, or the Rhins of Galloway, is a peninsula in the Dumfries and Galloway council area of Scotland. It forms the southern extremity of the Scottish mainland, projecting into the Irish Sea with the Solway Firth to the west and the North Channel to the south. The town of Stranraer anchors the northern end, while Portpatrick and numerous smaller settlements line its coast. Loch Ryan lies inland, separating the Rhins from the wider Machars region. The landscape is largely rural, with farmland, moorland, and rugged coastline. At the southern tip lies the Mull of Galloway, site of the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse, and at the western edge is Corsewall Point with Corsewall Lighthouse.
