It is used in crafts, maintenance, and restoration to apply adhesives, epoxy resins, solder flux, sealants, or paint touch-ups where a larger brush would be impractical.

Construction and variants: Typical Reparaturpinsel have synthetic bristles such as nylon or polyester, sometimes natural hair, attached to a short handle made of wood or plastic. The bristle tips can be pointed, angled, or flat, and bristle stiffness varies from soft to stiff to suit different substances and surfaces.
