Reniiniärityksellä

Reniiniärityksellä is a Finnish term that translates to "renin excretion" or "excretion of renin" in English. Renin is a crucial enzyme produced by specialized cells in the kidneys called juxtaglomerular cells. Its primary role is to regulate blood pressure and fluid balance within the body. The release of renin into the bloodstream is a key step in the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), a hormonal cascade that influences vascular constriction and sodium and water retention.

The excretion of renin is not a direct process in the same way that waste products are eliminated from the body. Instead, renin is synthesized and stored within the juxtaglomerular cells. When triggered by factors such as low blood pressure, decreased sodium levels in the blood, or sympathetic nervous system stimulation, these cells release renin directly into the circulation.
