Reléed

Reléed is a fictional open-data platform for modeling and querying relational knowledge between entities using a graph-based data model. It is designed to support provenance, versioning, and collaborative editing in research and education settings.

The concept originated in academic circles in the early 2020s as a case study for graph-based knowledge systems. It does not represent a single software product but rather a reference architecture used in teaching and speculative design.

In Reléed, information is represented as nodes (entities) and edges (relationships). Each node has a type and a set of properties; edges have a type, direction, and can carry properties. Reléed introduces its own schema language, Reléed Schema Language (RSL), to define allowed node types, edge types, and constraints. A global graph supports multiple schemas and cross-graph linking. Provenance is captured via versioned snapshots and per-edge metadata.

The reference implementation provides a graph-store, a REST or GraphQL API, and a visual editor for constructing graphs. A query layer, Reléed Query Language (RQL), allows pattern matching and traversal with support for constraints and ordering.

Applications include educational use for knowledge graphs, hypothetical platforms for cultural heritage projects, and blueprints for data integration in research domains. It emphasizes interoperability with standard graph databases and data exchange formats.

In evaluative discussions, Reléed is noted for a clear separation of schema from data, a focus on provenance, and a modular architecture, while remaining largely conceptual outside of classroom examples.
