Regurgitációként

Regurgitációként is a term that refers to the act of bringing back up food or other substances from the stomach into the esophagus or mouth. This is a natural bodily function that can occur in various situations. In infants, regurgitation is common and often referred to as "spitting up." This is usually due to an immature digestive system and can be exacerbated by overfeeding or lying flat after a feeding. As babies grow, this typically resolves on its own.

In adults, regurgitation can be a symptom of several conditions. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a common cause, where stomach contents flow back into the esophagus. This can lead to symptoms like heartburn and a sour taste in the mouth. Regurgitation can also occur due to mechanical issues, such as a blockage in the esophagus or stomach, or certain neurological conditions that affect swallowing. It can also happen involuntarily after consuming large meals or certain types of food that are difficult to digest. While occasional regurgitation may not be a cause for concern, persistent or severe regurgitation should be evaluated by a medical professional to determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment.
