Rechungpas
Rechungpas were a group of disciples of the Tibetan Buddhist yogi Milarepa. The name "Rechungpa" literally means "little Rechung" and is often contrasted with "Phagmodrupa," another prominent disciple of Milarepa. Rechungpa, whose given name was Tsang-pa-la, is considered one of Milarepa's two most important disciples, alongside Gampopa. He was known for his profound understanding of Milarepa's teachings and for his own contributions to the Kagyu lineage. Rechungpa traveled extensively, spreading Milarepa's teachings throughout Tibet. He is credited with preserving and transmitting many of Milarepa's songs and instructions. His lineage of teachings is sometimes referred to as the "Rechung Kagyu." He is also known for his interactions with other important Tibetan Buddhist figures of his time. The biographical accounts of Milarepa often feature detailed narratives of Rechungpa's life and his spiritual journey. His spiritual legacy is an integral part of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism.
