Rannekanavaoireyhtymä

Rannekanavaoireyhtymää is a Finnish term that refers to several interconnected arteriovenous fistulae and aneurysms, which are abnormal connections between arteries and veins in the hand or arm. This condition is characterized by painless, non-pitting, and usually warm indurated plaques on the hand or arm, and the surrounding skin may also exhibit erythema and a bluish discoloration.

The formation of rattan oreans is thought to be caused by damage to the hand, which may have been caused by trauma, a previous surgical intervention, or excessive use of vibrating tools. It is also found to be associated with certain systemic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. A possible mechanism for the development of rattanoreans is an aberrant healing response of the damaged hand tissue. The altered circulation of blood due to the lack of normal venous and arteriolo endothelial cells may have something to do with its formation.

The main symptoms of rattan oreansemia include localized redness, edema, feelings of warmth, and a bulging shape over the interosseous artery. An evaluation of diagnosis usually includes a careful examination of the patient's medical history and any prior history of the hand trauma. Physical examination of the patient determines whether a concomitant perforating vein injury is affected. Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRI) is the preferred imaging method for locating abnormal communications.
