Rakendava

Rakendava is an Estonian word formed as the genitive singular of the present active participle rakendav, which itself comes from the verb rakendama meaning "to apply" or "to implement." As a participle used as an adjective, rakendav describes something that performs or involves applying or implementing. The form rakendava appears in phrases where the noun it modifies is in the genitive case, for example in constructions that express "of applying" or "pertaining to implementing."

In practical use, rakendav functions as an attributive modifier rather than a standalone verb. It typically appears in technical, administrative, or legal texts where processes, methods, systems, or tools are described in terms of their implementing or applying characteristics. The standard dictionary form rakendav is used in nominative positions (for example, rakendav meetod = “an implementing method”), while rakendava serves to align with a genitive noun (for example rakendava meetodi = “the method of implementing” or “the implementing method’s …”).

Morphology and usage follow the general rules for Estonian participles: rivalling adjectives in form, they decline to match case and number of the noun they describe. The root rakend- conveys the concept of application, deployment, or execution, giving rakendav/rakendava a narrow but clear semantic field within Estonian.
