Radiofrekvensfält

Radiofrekvensfält, often abbreviated as RF-fält, refers to the electromagnetic field that oscillates at radio frequencies. These frequencies fall within the range of approximately 3 kilohertz to 300 gigahertz, a spectrum used for various communication technologies. An RF field is composed of two oscillating components: an electric field and a magnetic field, which are perpendicular to each other and to the direction of propagation. These fields are generated by oscillating electric charges, such as those in an antenna.

The presence and intensity of RF fields are a subject of ongoing scientific research and public interest, particularly concerning potential biological effects. When an RF field interacts with matter, energy can be absorbed by the material. This absorption is dependent on the frequency of the field, the properties of the material, and the field strength. In biological tissues, this absorption can lead to a rise in temperature.
