Radioastronomin is the German feminine noun for a person who practices radio astronomy; in English, the term is radio astronomer. A radioastronomin studies the universe by detecting radio waves emitted by astronomical sources. This branch of astronomy complements optical observations by probing phenomena invisible at shorter wavelengths and by revealing processes that operate at long wavelengths.
