RabatSaléKénitra

Rabat-Salé-Kénitra is one of the twelve administrative regions of Morocco. It was created in 2015 by merging the former regions of Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer and the Gharb-Chrarda-Béni Hsen. The region has a total area of 18,385 square kilometers and a population of approximately 4,570,000 people as of the 2014 census. Its capital is Rabat, which is also the national capital of Morocco.

The region is situated in the northwestern part of the country, bordering the Atlantic Ocean to the west. It is divided into four prefectures and five provinces: Rabat, Salé, Skhirat-Témara, Kénitra, Khemisset, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Ouazzane, and Chefchaouen. The major cities within the region include Rabat, Salé, Kénitra, and Témara.

Rabat-Salé-Kénitra is a significant economic and political hub for Morocco. The region's economy is diverse, with key sectors including agriculture, industry, tourism, and services. The fertile plains of the Gharb are important for agricultural production, while the coastal areas are vital for fishing and tourism. The region also benefits from its role as the administrative and political center, hosting numerous government institutions and international organizations. The historic city of Rabat, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a major tourist attraction, as are the beaches along the Atlantic coast.
