RS3

RS3 is an abbreviation for RuneScape 3, the current mainline version of the online role-playing game RuneScape developed by Jagex. It emerged as the continuation of the RuneScape series and introduced a major overhaul to its combat system, known as Evolution of Combat, which shifted to an action-based format with abilities and hotkeys. Since its early releases, RuneScape 3 has continued to evolve through engine upgrades and ongoing content updates, including transitions to the NXT engine to improve graphics and performance.

The game centers on a large, open world where players train a wide range of skills, complete quests, and engage in both player-versus-environment and player-versus-player activities. The in-game economy is supported by the Grand Exchange, item trading, and regular updates that add new areas, bosses, minigames, and activities. RS3 is distinct from Old School RuneScape (OSRS), a separate version based on a 2007-era snapshot of the game that is maintained independently by Jagex and the community. Both versions share the same lore and world but follow different development paths and content cadences.

Platforms for RuneScape 3 include Windows and macOS, with mobile clients available for iOS and Android and additional access via Steam on compatible systems. The game remains supported by a subscription model with optional microtransactions, and it continues to receive regular updates from its developers.
