QXGA
QXGA stands for Quad Extended Graphics Array. It is a display resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. This resolution is four times that of XGA (eXtended Graphics Array), which has a resolution of 1024 x 768. QXGA was introduced in 1997 by IBM. It offers a significantly sharper and more detailed image compared to lower resolutions, making it suitable for demanding applications such as professional graphic design, scientific visualization, and high-end gaming. The aspect ratio of QXGA is 4:3. While QXGA was a notable advancement in its time, it has largely been surpassed by higher resolution standards like WQXGA (2560 x 1600) and UHD (3840 x 2160) with the advent of modern display technology and consumer demand for increasingly immersive visual experiences. It is less commonly encountered in contemporary consumer electronics but may still be found in specialized professional equipment or legacy systems.
