Q65

Q65 was a Dutch rock band formed in 1965 in The Hague. The group initially consisted of lead singer and guitarist Willem van Kooten, guitarist Jaap van de Poll, bassist Wim van de Brink, and drummer Hans van der Zee. They gained popularity in the Netherlands during the late 1960s, known for their energetic live performances and a sound that blended elements of beat music and early psychedelic rock.

The band's most successful period came with the release of their single "The World of My Own" in 1967, which became a major hit in the Dutch charts. This success led to further recordings and performances, including appearances on television programs. Q65 released several singles and an album during their active years.

Despite their initial success, Q65 experienced internal changes and shifts in musical direction. Like many bands of the era, they faced challenges in maintaining momentum and adapting to evolving music trends. The group disbanded in the early 1970s. Their music remains a notable part of Dutch pop music history from the 1960s, often remembered for its distinct sound and contribution to the beat and psychedelic scenes in the Netherlands.
