Pyörähdysaste

Pyörähdysaste, often translated as "degree of rotation" or simply "angle" in English contexts, is a fundamental concept in geometry and trigonometry. It quantifies the amount of circular turn between two intersecting lines or rays. A full circle is conventionally divided into 360 degrees. This means that one full revolution around a point is equivalent to 360 pyörähdysastetta.

The degree is a unit of angular measurement. Smaller angles can be expressed in minutes and seconds, where one degree is equal to 60 minutes, and one minute is equal to 60 seconds. This subdivision is a historical artifact from ancient Babylonian mathematics. Pyörähdysaste is a widely used unit in various fields, including navigation, astronomy, engineering, and everyday life when describing turns or directions. For example, a right-hand turn might be described as a 90 pyörähdysaste turn. In trigonometry, angles measured in pyörähdysaste are used to define relationships between sides of triangles and trigonometric functions like sine and cosine.
