Puxian
PuXian, also known as Puxian Min, is a branch of Min Chinese spoken primarily in Putian Prefecture in southern Fujian, China. The name derives from the city of Putian. It is recognized by linguists as a distinct branch within the Min language group, separate from other major Min varieties such as Hokkien (Min Nan) and Fuzhou (Eastern Min).
Estimates of speakers vary, but PuXian is spoken by hundreds of thousands to a few million people.
