Purkuräjäytys is a Finnish term that translates to "demolition by explosion" or "explosive demolition" in English. It refers to the controlled use of explosives to bring down buildings or other structures in a safe and efficient manner. This method is employed when traditional demolition techniques are impractical, too slow, or pose a greater risk.

The process involves a careful and systematic planning phase.
