Punktais is a fictional planet located in the Cygnus Arm of the Milky Way galaxy. It is primarily characterized by its unique geological formations and a single, dominant sentient species known as the Vex. The planet's surface is dominated by vast, crystalline deserts interspersed with jagged mountain ranges that pierce the perpetually twilight sky. The atmosphere is thin and rich in argon, giving the sky a distinct violet hue.

The Vex are silicon-based lifeforms with a complex, hive-like social structure. They communicate through a series of resonant vibrations and light patterns emitted from specialized organs on their exoskeletons.
