Pseudopodes, also spelled pseudopods (pseudopodia), are temporary, cytoplasm-filled projections of a eukaryotic cell that enable movement and feeding. The term derives from Greek pseudo meaning false and pous meaning foot. Pseudopodes are most commonly associated with amoeboid cells, but they occur in a variety of protists and in some cells of multicellular organisms.
