Prøvemassen
Prøvemassen (the test mass) is a term used in Norwegian and Danish contexts to denote the portion of material selected from a larger batch for laboratory testing, quality control, or product specification checks. The purpose is to obtain analytical results that are representative of the entire batch while enabling efficient testing. The size and composition of the prøvemassen are determined by a sampling plan that accounts for batch size, material heterogeneity, intended analyses, and the required level of statistical confidence. The mass is measured with calibrated balances, and results are reported with traceable uncertainty.
