Prímfaktorizálásának

Prímfaktorizálásának is the Hungarian term for prime factorization. It refers to the process of breaking down a composite number into its prime factors, which are prime numbers that, when multiplied together, equal the original number. Every integer greater than one has a unique prime factorization, a fundamental concept in number theory known as the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic.

To perform prime factorization, one typically starts by dividing the composite number by the smallest prime number possible, usually 2. If the result is divisible by 2, the division is repeated until it's no longer possible. Then, the next smallest prime number, 3, is used, and so on. This process continues until the number is reduced to 1. The prime numbers used as divisors throughout this process constitute the prime factorization of the original number.

For example, the prime factorization of 12 would be found by first dividing by 2, resulting in 6. 6 is again divisible by 2, yielding 3. 3 is a prime number, so the process stops. The prime factors are 2, 2, and 3. Therefore, the prime factorization of 12 is 2 x 2 x 3. This can also be written using exponents as 2^2 x 3. Prime factorization has applications in various mathematical fields, including cryptography and the simplification of fractions.
