Prysk

Prysk is a small village situated in eastern Poland. Administratively it falls within the Gmina Borzykowo of Toruń County, in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. The settlement lies approximately 12 kilometres (7 miles) south of the town of Tuchola and about 35 kilometres (22 miles) north-west of the city of Bydgoszcz.

Historically, Prysk appears in records dating back to the early 15th century, when it was part of the Polish Crown’s territorial holdings in the region. Over the centuries it remained primarily an agricultural community, with most residents engaged in crop cultivation and animal husbandry. During the partitions of Poland, the area was controlled by Prussia, later becoming part of the German Empire, and returned to Poland after World I. In the interwar period, the village experienced modest infrastructure development, including the construction of a primary school and a volunteer fire brigade.

Following World II, Prysk was incorporated into the Polish People's Republic and later the modern Republic of Poland. The village maintains a sparse population, estimated at around 250 residents as of the latest census. Key features include a historical 19th‑century wooden chapel, a communal park, and a small forested area that provides recreational space.

Despite its small size, Prysk serves as a typical representation of rural life in the Kuyavian‑Pomeranian region, preserving traditional customs while adapting to contemporary administrative structures.
