Protsendipunkt

Protsendipunkt is an Estonian term for the unit of measurement that expresses an absolute change in a percentage. One protsendipunkt equals one percentage point. It represents the difference between two percentage values and is not a percentage itself.

In reporting, protsendipunkt is used to describe changes in percentages without implying a relative proportion. For example, an unemployment rate rising from 5% to 7% is an increase of 2 protsendipunkti. By contrast, the same change represents a 40% increase relative to the starting value (2 divided by 5).
