Proportionerbar is a Swedish adjective that translates literally to “proportional” in English. The term is primarily used in mathematics, physics, engineering, and statistical contexts to describe a relationship in which two quantities vary in a constant ratio to one another. When a dependent variable is proportionerbar to an independent variable, it means that the ratio of the two quantities remains constant across all values. This consistent ratio is often expressed as y = k·x, where k is the constant of proportionality.
