Pronikat

Pronikat is a Czech verb meaning to penetrate, permeate, or seep through. It describes both physical penetration (for example, water that penetrates a crack) and figurative penetration (ideas, information, or influence entering a group or system). The verb is imperfective; its perfective counterpart is proniknout.

In the present tense, common forms are proníkám, proníkáš, proníká, proníkáme, proníkáte, pronikají. The related noun forms include proniknutí and pronikání, referring to the act or process of penetration. An adjective form is pronikavý, meaning piercing or penetrating, used, for example, of light or a gaze. The phrase pronikat do, with the genitive following do, denotes entering into something: pronikat do materiálu, pronikat do mysli.

The term is widely used in everyday Czech as well as in technical and literary contexts.
